Well, the title says it all. 'They' have
finally admitted that the nuclear situation is more serious than previously believed. We already knew the radiation was going to cover the entire Northern Hemisphere, but now they are finally admitting that the radiation will be serious enough to cause deaths at home.

The INES classification has been upped to level 5. |
Those working relief are essentially on a suicide mission if you ask me. They have moved the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) classification from a 4 to a 5, putting it in the same category as the
Three Mile Island accident, where ironically enough,
the people were lied to as well.
Well needless to say perhaps, but I will, this upsets me. Not only will there be additional loss of life, but the callous nature of government officials and nuclear energy executives has the gall to hide it from the public for so long.
I wonder how many will needlessly die as a result of this.
I'll close with another descriptive chart contained within the article, this one detailing the aftermath of the quake.
I guess all we can do now is help as best we can and hope our prayers are answered. Oh, and hope for some transparency from the bureaucrats.
I hope the best for Japan it is a very sad time indeed :(
ReplyDeleteThose people that volunteer to work at the nuclear plant at this period of time can truly be called Heroes
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad tragedy :(
ReplyDeleteI hope they are able to get everything worked out.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible. I really hope the cloud doesn't spread around the world, else Japan will not be the only country affected by this.
ReplyDeletereading about the workers sacrificing themselves is incredibly inspiring and tragic. those workers are true heroes.
ReplyDeletefollowed.
Governments lie my friend and citizens die, Japan is no different.
ReplyDeletestay strong Japan!
ReplyDeleteI do hope that they sort all this out! I've donated a fair amount of money to charities and what not!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that the Japanese have been underplaying how bad it really is. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know about this... Thanks for pictures about levels of radiation. God save Japan...
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this scale before. I also heard, that opinions differ on the Fukushima incident, some are already calling it a 6.
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope for the best...
ReplyDeletebad news : (
ReplyDeleteScary stuff!
ReplyDeletegreat background on this, bro!
ReplyDeleteThe thing that bothers me is : Who was the company who engineered these powerplants.. They should be tarred and peppered for building earthquake-unsafe powerplants..
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is going to be that big of an issue. The networks just need to broadcast some fear.
