Friday!

Well it's finally Friday everybody.. it's safe to celebrate the end of the business week. This weekend is looking somewhat busy for me, but I've been increasingly lethargic these past few days so I'm not looking forward to the weekend with much excitement.

I've been looking for ways to give myself a boost but nothing seems to really work, at least not for any significant length of time. I've tried coffee, tea, energy drinks (really don't help with the crash), and next on my list is a product called 5 Hour Energy. I've never tried it, but I have heard some really good things, so why not?

Anyone else having trouble staying awake? Maybe it's something to do with my sleep... apnea, perhaps? :o Coffee is not a long-term solution, and I don't think 5 Hour Energy will be either.. stuff is pretty expensive.

Well, nonetheless, happy Friday everyone! Have a fun and safe weekend. :)

  1. It can be diet or some stress, try and stay off all the energy drinks, fresh air maybe some exercise, look after yourself.

  2. Rockstar Recovery. It has slightly less energy compared to a normal RS, and it has electrolytes. The combo of energy drink + electrolytes helps keep me rockin, and I never feel a crash.

  3. Yeah, I don't get the kick that other people get when they drink coffee or red bull.

  4. Work out! It helps me so much....gives you a lasting 'awake' feeling way more than coffee or energy drinks will.

Go run for half an hour on the treadmill and you'll feel great.

  5. I have a lot more trouble falling asleep than I do staying awake.
I hope the 5 hour energy helps out!

  7. Guess I'm posting kinda late. But I used to be addicted to energy drinks and the 5 hour energy stuff, and overall, it didn't make me feel so good. I've started taking vitamins, and my sleep cycle is much better now. I'm sleeping a bit less, but I'm tired at night so I can fall asleep and I get up earlier now too. Maybe you could try some vitamins? Namely, I'm taking a multivitamin and vitamin C.

  8. I agree with Shelby. Exercising or some kind of physical activity would give you that boost you are looking for. :)

  10. Exercise to get the blood flowing. That always helps me. Black tea (like iced tea) is good for a boost and helps relieve stress as well, but make sure it's home brewed and sweetened. Prebottled iced tea is full of high fructose corn syrup just like a can of soda.

  11. Guh. 5 hour. Those things are just awful. They tend to make me sick if anything.

  12. There is a health podcast called Underground Wellness and they talk about why people are tired, depressed etc and a huge factor of that is the diet you eat. Most people are on a high carb, high sugar low fat diet which makes you tired and constantly needing to eat (3-5 times a day).

Check it out, interesting stuff. Following :)

  19. If you want to stay awake using a source of caffeine, the main issue is consistently intaking it to your body, because it doesn't really give you a boost for long.

Well actually, caffeine doesn't give you a boost at all. It just makes everything work harder so you think you have increased reflexes and reaction.
