Another day, another day.. wait, how many more?

Ugh.. So DMV test didn't happen today. Apparently my sister fell ill and was unable to take me. In the past I would've gotten more upset than I am now, but meh. Not in my control, and a day or two to wait won't hurt. I feel bad having you guys wish me all of this luck for a test that didn't even happen! :/

Anyway... Thank you all for the support and encouragement anyway! I have the power to carry over all of the wished luck for the actual test taking day, so no worries ;). If anything I have a few more practice tests I can take in the mean time.

So I have been thinking about performing a two week water fast. For those of you who don't know, fasting is when you stop eating solid food. It's supposed to aide you spiritually, mentally, and physically. I'm still undecided as I have family telling me it can be dangerous and numerous trusted sources telling me it can be very rewarding. Looks like I'm going to do some more research and get back to you guys about this.

Have any of you ever tried a fast before? If so, what was the nature of the fast, and what results did you see? I'm going to put a link to some info below. Let me know what you guys think! :)

  1. Maybe its good you didn't go - maybe all that luck you were wished prevented some kind of freak accident! On the otherhand, bad times man.

  3. Don't know anything about fasting, but I've seen plenty of craze on the erowid link you provided. A good friend of mine used to have that site when he had to do some research.

  5. I prefer fiction to be honest, but I like autobiographies and factual books that are written in a certian way.

  6. My experience with fasting is biased, as an ex used that as an excuse to be anorexic.

  8. I could never do a two-week water fast. Maybe you should see your doctor before starting? Good luck with the test.

  9. I wouldn't advise it but I can't imagine it to be harmful if you don't take it for prolonged periods. Have fun!

  10. I unintentionally fasted when I was in college. Not for any reason, I was too damn poor. Ramen for breakfast, fast the rest of the day. Lasted a week, until my grant money came in.

    Never again, bro. Never again.

  11. As long as you drink plenty of water you should be fine.

  12. Fasting is possible. I did it for an entire day. Well thirty hours, and I was fine.. Nothing super long..

  14. I never needed to think about this because of my body. I can eat anything and people still gonna tell me to eat more, not to be so skinny. Therefore I can't really give you any advice.

  16. Change the place where you take your test for driving.. Some inspectors few racists and some maniacs use their job to express their revenge.
I took my first in Newark- you know the result and then in Wayne- voila:) Actually the firsttime my parallel parking was perfect -6inch from curb.
The reason - "after applying break, vehicle shaking", "too much towards the rightlane".

  17. Go for it, two weeks is a bit long to start with, I'd try a week first.

  18. I never tried fasting but I think my mind and stomach wouldn't handle it! My metabolism is too fast!

  20. Fasting? A lot of people from a lot of religions would highly recommend it. I fasted every morning for 1 week while living in Korea before I knew the results of many important issues--waiting for my then girlfriend's visa to be complete so we could return to the US with plane tickets already bought... To top it off, her mom didn't want us to marry.

Fasting was a very good idea for me.

As for you, I'm glad to hear you are being patient, not that you have much choice. It's a good attitude to have. I think that if you've been studying you'll do fine--best of luck to you!
